Important Dog transport information

Does my dog need a passport to travel?

Passport only necessary for travel to or from EU (including Ireland). Rabies and Tapeworm vaccinations can be given via your vet and, as of now, are statutory requirements to leave the UK, as is a fit to travel certificate again provided by your vet.


Are you insured?

Yes, we hold full Hire and Reward, Care Custody and Control, Public Liability.


Are you registered as a transporter?

Yes, our vehicles are fully DEFRA approved. We have full APHA type 2 Authorisation for all journeys, including over 8hrs. In addition, we have WATO type 2 certificate of competence for drivers covering journeys over 8hrs. All documentation is carried on board at all times. The lorry is disinfected after every journey, with a DEFRA approved disinfectant. In addition, we are members of the Road Haulage Association (RHA). Our terms are as per the RHA Conditions of Carriage 2020.


Do I need insurance?

K9 Transport Services are fully insured to transport dogs. With comprehensive cover for public liability, hire and reward, care/custody and control. We also have a full breakdown and recovery policy.


Do you provide breaks and water on the journey?

Regular relief and water stops are taken throughout the journey.
